Diversity In The Workplace
...It is
Our Differences That Give Us Value...Not Our Similarities
This
presentation is designed to heighten the awareness of the many areas of
diversity in the modern workplace world. The
training will explore the value's found in accessing the intellectual
property of each member of the team.
Special focus will
be placed on learning to accept the variety of responses people choose
as a result of social and cultural upbringing. Sensitivity to
these differences will be illustrated using a variety of role playing
exercises designed to highlight common areas of difficulty.
Areas of diversity
explored during this training will include Race, Gender, Age, Level of
Education, Title, National Origin, Religion and Political viewpoint as
well as other less obvious areas of diversity. Hot button topics
will include racial profiling, discrimination and preferential
treatment.

Attendees will be encouraged to
share their unique diversities in a group comparison exercise.

A candid discussion of
unacceptable behaviors will be outlined to expose negative comments
that are routinely made.

Methods for repairing difficult
relationships using a mediation process will be illustrated.

Techniques design to improve
the social climate within the workplace will be demonstrated.

The ultimate goal for this
staff development training is a deeper level of understanding and
acceptance of the value of all people.
This workshop is conducted
using a multi-media, PowerPoint presentation. Attendees receive a
complete handout as well as a laminated summary card for handy future
reference and retention of the training techniques. |
